Dr. James Vance is an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise. He is on a one year sabbatical from UVAWise to work on the Spatial Ecology and Management of Elk Project and finish a Masters of Natural Resources from Virginia Tech. Dr. Marcella Kelly is an Associate Professor of Wildlife in the Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation at Virginia Tech. Dr. Jim Parkhurst is an Associate Professor of Wildlife and a Wildlife Extension Specialist in the Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation at Virginia Tech. His research interests are wildlife damage management and habitat management.
Allen Boynton is the Terrestrial Wildlife Biologist Manager Region III at the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries in charge of the Virginia Elk Restoration Project.
Parvati Gopalan is a senior mathematics major at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise. She is working on preliminary homerange analysis of elk from a statistical standpoint as part of her senior seminar research project.
